License Plate
Hey? I'm just curious. I don't know if it's illegal, but I'm pretty sure it is that if you don't put one of your license plate up in the front of your front bumper. I personally didn't drill any holes into mine so it's not on there at all. Nor do I even put it up on the dash by the window. I think it kinda kills the look of the car. Having it in the back is good enough. What about you?

Re: License Plate
I have been told many times that it is illegal not to have a front plate, but i have never had any on any of my cars, its looks dumb, but i do keep it under my seat just incase. I have been pulled over with no plate and yet to receive a ticket for it, and i have been pulled over quite a few times.

Re: License Plate
I had mine off the front of my car also, but my dad screwed in holes for it so now it's there..haha. I haven't heard of anyone being ticketed for no front plates either, but it suppose to be illegal. :/

Re: License Plate
I got pulled over three times in one month with the laser for it. I think the total was seven times that summer. I have never been pulled over for it with the conquest. I have been pulled over for speeding and had the cop walk to the front to get the plate only to have to walk to the back. He didn't say anything.

Re: License Plate
Putting it in the window doesnt do you any good, its only asking to be pulled over.
I've been pulled over maybe twice for it. No big deal really.

Re: License Plate
If you are getting pulled over for nothing but the front plate not being where it should, you have to spend your time actually breaking laws. I found that once I was driving like the back seat was on fire, I wouldn't get pulled over for dumb shit.

Re: License Plate
I know people that have gotten pulled over for it, but I got away with it for 2 years on a lowered honda, that I took down to porky's and everything.
It's just a roll of the dice. The conquest is never gonna wear a front plate, I don't have the bracket for it, and if I did, it would probably have rusted off.

Re: License Plate
No front plates for me ever on numerous cars, I have been pulled over a few times for it though (just fix-it tickets, no actual fine).
Putting it in the windshield is just asking to be pulled over though. If the cops sees it in the windshield he'll imediately realize thats illegal where sometimes they won't even notice the front of your car doesn't have one.

Re: License Plate
I've been harrassed for it a few times, ticketed once (in the stealth, first day I got it!).
I don't want to be harrassed with a vehicle that has a lumpy idle, 4" exhaust, and a roll cage, so it's going on the front . The less I stand out the better.

Re: License Plate
I got pulled over once awhile back for no front plate, and got a ticket.
i just went to a hearing officer, and told them that the bracket fell off, and that its on there now. And i didnt have to pay a cent.

Re: License Plate
i got about 4 tickets for it in one summer, two of them were on the same morning. I went to court came out with a ticket for no front plate sitting on my windsheild, drove home and got pulled over on the way and got another no front plate ticket. Needless to say i stayed home for the rest of the day.
I started a petitiononline.com about the eradication of the no front plate law in mn, a couple years back, and i still get emails about it. LOL

I now own the laser and have also been pulled over, only down at uni. I never got a ticket though.

Re: License Plate
I got a front plate ticket in St. Paul when the car was parked. Of course this was on one of my shit box 1G winter beaters and the bracket HAD actually rusted off! It was only off for like a week (that's the kind of luck I have). I zipped tied the plate to the bumper after that even though that isn't technically legal either.

Mine is zip tied on and I even have the zip ties sticking straight out like 6" and they are white ones on a black car.
People always give me funny looks when I say they help me parallel park.
